The author's visit far exceeded my expectations in every regard. Edith immediately engaged with the students, sitting on the floor alongside them. She cultivated an environment where the students felt comfortable sharing their personal experiences. Edith delivered a captivating reading of her story "Two Homes, Dos Casas" to the K-5 students. Her presentation explored themes of home, family, loss, and tradition. She delved into the writing process with our older students, discussing editing and publishing. The students have already asked when Edith is returning. They loved being able to ask questions-while sharing how they felt about their own life experiences. They came away feeling powerful and knowing that they had their own story to share!

I loved having the space to not only reflect on my own journey but also hear the diverse stories of my colleagues. Seeing both the similarities and differences across cultures was eye-opening.
