"I love that it is in English and Spanish! So my little kids are excited to go back and tell their teacher they know some more Spanish words! Great book! Can’t wait to read again with my children."

"This book is such a gift to those of us who grew up returning to our homeland! I could see myself in the experiences that these children had and had so many "oh my gosh that's so true!" moments while reading this story. The illustrations are beautiful and the author's commitment to authenticity is so appreciated. I recommend this book to all children and even those of us adults!"

Edith Suàrez Torres

Author’s Bio

Edith Suàrez is the author and storyteller behind Two Homes, Dos Casas. She was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and grew up visiting her abuelitas in México with her parents. During her university studies in topics like race, ethnicity, and culture, she began connecting the dots on how her upbringing, school, and society deeply influenced her identity and what she knew or didn’t know about her cultural roots. These reflections, and her exposure to diverse communities, nurtured her passion for identity, culture, and education. In the past decade, this passion led her to live in places like Burkina Faso, West Africa; Boston, Massachusetts; and currently Atlanta, Georgia, where she continues to experience the power that stories provide in teaching us about ourselves and others.

Author: Edith Suàrez Torres

Two Homes, Dos Casas is a reflection of Edith’s love of using storytelling as a way to learn and deepen our connections with those around us, while also becoming proud of who we are and where we come from. Stories with intention have the power to change our lives for the better, and Edith is excited for the stories and moments of connection that this book will bring among children and families.

"This book is absolutely amazing! The smile on my daughter's face when I read it to her warms my heart. This book has brought so much joy to my family and I know it will do the same for yours. This is a must-have if you have a young child."
