Cheers to All the Dope Tías

Cheers to All the Dope Tías

This is a thank you letter to all the dope tías

The tías we call tías

And the tías we call by their name

“Dime tia. Soy tu tia”

They might say

Thank you to the tías that believe in us

The ones that pray for us just because

Cheers to the tías with great consejos

The tias that make us feel like queens

They tell us things like:

“Que inteligente sobrina” y “Que chula mija.”

They make us feel seen

Thank you to the tías that share their gifts

The ones that altered our vestidos and pantalones for that perfect fit

Gracías a las tías that helped with our quinceañeras

The ones that embellished our dress for a touch of swag

And made our ramos with their own hands

Thank you to the tías with the sazon in the cocina

the ones that always offered a taquito during  our visitas

Cheers to the tías that were firsts in their own ways

The ones who inspire us to keep pushing and find OUR own way

And Gracias to the tías that bring us joy and carcajadas

Who lift us up with their mere presence

and make us feel apreciadas

Now I ask you, which tías come to your mind?

I invite you to write your comments and/or the tías that come to your mind in the comment box below.
